Restumping
Restumping is the term we use when we replace old timber stumps to new concrete stumps. Many people wonder how do I know if they need replacing? The answer is quite simple. If you notice any unevenness in the floors, bowing of the floor, cracks in the plaster or doors starting to jam then its best to resolve the issue sooner rather than later.
Process
The process is straight forward. Engage us for a free quote, to then organise the best and most effective approach to getting the job done. Once we then agree on terms we then apply for the relevant building and council permits needed. We handle all the paperwork to give you a smooth free process. Initial works start by removing any rubbish/soil from under the house, and removing the plinth boards to provide access to the subfloor. The next step would be to place bottle jacks that would support the weight of the house whilst we replace the stumps. During the placing of the bottle jacks we use a computer level to level the floors. Once it’s all levelled we have a surveyor inspect all the footing to allow us to pour the concrete. Once poured a curing time of 48hrs is necessary for the concrete to dry up. Once cured we adjust the final touches and remove the supporting bottle jacks. On completion you will be issued with a final inspection certificate!
